What is an SPF record?

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS TXT record that lists which mail servers and third-party services (such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or SendGrid) are authorized to send email on behalf of your domain name.

When an email arrives, receiving servers check your domain's SPF record to verify if the sending IP is approved. If not, the message may be tagged as spam or rejected, protecting your domain reputation and preventing unauthorized spoofing.
