What is DMARC and why do you need it?

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) is an email security protocol that builds on SPF and DKIM. It tells receiving email servers (like Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft 365) what to do when an email fails authentication checks.

Major email providers like Google and Yahoo require a published DMARC policy for senders. Starting with a p=none policy lets you monitor sender reports, while p=quarantine and p=reject actively block spoofing and phishing attempts on your brand.
